Warriors Defense Confuses First Place Chicago Bulls

Posted: February 8, 2011 in Golden State Basketball

What’s up Bay Area Sports Fans? Okay, here’s the scenario. You got the Chicago Bulls, who have won 9 of there last ten, they are the No. 1 defensive team in the NBA. They also are in first place in the central division. They’ve beat teams like Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics, Orlando Magic, The red hot Miami Heat, even the defending World Champion Los Angeles Lakers. They’re at Oracle arena to play our lowly hanging on by a thread third place western division Golden State Warriors. So Chicago should be thinking, “Okay, Golden State. Piece of cake right?” Wrong!

Especially when you have Monta Ellis and Steph Curry combining for 56 points. Andris Biedrins had a great night, and will somebody give Epke Udoh his props. The rookie has a stern defensive prowess. Carlos Boozer who is now a Chicago Bull didn’t understand Epke U’Doh! Sorry for the Homer Simpson play on words but my god, Mr Boozer couldn’t handle him.  He did finish with 21 points 10 rebounds and 5 assists, but most of his points didn’t come until late in the fourth quarter. Ekpe wasn’t covering him then. David Lee didn’t have the best of shooting nights, but he had a reverse dunk that set the standard for the night. Derrick Rose finished with only 14 points.

The defensive strategy of Golden State was something he stated as, “Weird.” It definitely had the Chicago Bulls scratching their heads and thinking, “What just happened?” Rose had a career high 9 turnovers, which is rare for him. It’s a huge win for Golden State, we hope they can carry that momentum when they go to play the Phoenix Suns. Remember folks its ALLBAYAREASPORTS.com, Bay Area Sports Magnified!
